Avalanche (なだれで サーフィン lit. Surfing in the Avalanche in Japanese) is the sixteenth level and is the first level of the fourth warp room in Crash Bandicoot: The Wrath of Cortex. The level takes place in a icy mountain ski resort world surrounded by blizzards, warm houses, Eskimos, and skies. As its name suggests, an avalanche disaster happens here. It is the first time in the game that Coco uses her snowboard. The enemies in this level are the same that appear in Arctic Antics. Along with the clear gem awarded for breaking all boxes, an extra clear gem can be awarded by passing between all red and yellow flags during the avalanche section.

Trivia
- Crash was originally going to use a snowmobile here.
- The background music is the remake of the popular Benny Hill theme.
- This features the first bonus level in the Crash series to track leftways instead of right.
- The flags can be activated by Coco on foot, meaning it is possible to backtrack and walk through the final two to pass them even after the course is done.
- Although Wa-Wa has been defeated in the second Warp Room's boss fight, he still causes the avalanche in this level.
