Feeding the Trolls
While on other sites, people may encourage trolls who breach the user treatment policies. Obviously, they are not likeable, and we understand that, however users who are not on Team Bandipedia should not, under any circumstances, encourage them by telling them to stop. A friendly warning is okay, and so it should be, however if they persist don't encourage them to carry on, as they will likely cause more damage for the team to clean up later on. Humiliation of trolls is ill-advised, as often it breaks UTP. As Team Bandipedia, we are experts in dealing with trolls, so users should leave it to them.
Newcomers make mistakes, and yes if they are deliberately bad they will be punished. You know the type, people who edit the articles saying "Crash is coming back" unaware that we do not allow opinions and false information on the article, of course users need to call out others when this is done, however this must be done in a friendly way. If others persist in making bad edits, there is the Admin's Noticeboard, the chatroom, and Twitter where users can get help. Persistent harassment, when unjustified, is one of the more extreme cases of UTP and will almost certainly result in a block.
Being a dick
Being a 'dick' is the only way this policy can be put. Acting irate, and not accepting other opinions is a violation of this policy, Immaturity is not tolerated here as Bandipedia is a mature, insightful wiki where discussions are shared and well received. If community members are sharing a personal joke for example in the chatroom, and another user asks what the policy is about, the mature approach would be to explain it or at least give an idea of it if the user who made the joke does not wish to disclose further information about it. This is so that everybody can be involved at all times in discussion on the wiki. In short, when making a point in a community discussion, do not illustrate your point in such a manner that is detrimental to the wiki. Make your point, but never go overboard in doing so, as this is a breach of UTP.
