Boulder Dash

From Bandipedia, the Crash Bandicoot wiki

Boulder Dash is the second level of the Original Crash Bandicoot where Crash gets chased by a boulder very similar to the famous scene of Indiana Jones: The Raiders of the Lost Ark.

[edit] Trivia

  • This episode is named after the term "balderdash", which means gibberish or nonsensical talk.
  • It may also refer to the game series "Boulder Dash" as well as its first eponymous entry, in which the player has to collect gems without getting crushed by boulders. In said game there are also fireflies and butterflies as enemies. Note that gems and boulders are a common element in Crash games, and even fireflies are seen in more than one level.
  • Butterfly are instead a common element in Crash Bandicoot's sister series, that is, the Spyro series. Fireflies are also featured in one game, "Spyro 2: Season of Flame" for the Game Boy Advance.
  • This may hint that Boulder Dash is arguably a reference in the Spyro series, while the whole Crash series itself may even be inspired by said game, although it may be mere coincidence.
