Charles Zembillas

Charles Zembillas is a video game art director, character designer, and concept artist from Burbank, California. He is also the founder and CEO of the Animation Academy, where he currently teaches art. Charles Zembillas created concept art for video game series such as Crash Bandicoot, Jak and Daxter, and Spyro the Dragon. He was also a character designer for cartoon shows such as She-Ra: Princess of Power, Sonic the Hedgehog (SatAM) and Ghostbusters. He started off as an uncredited assistant animator to the 1982 Don Bluth film The Secret of N.I.M.H.

Charles Zembillas was the art director and concept artist for the first four games in the Crash Bandicoot series. However, for the first game, he worked with Joe Pearson. The last Crash Bandicoot game he worked on was Crash Nitro Kart.

In 2000, he created concept art for Naughty Dog's Jak and Daxter: The Precursor Legacy as well as Insomniac Games' Spyro: Year of the Dragon.
