Cortex Castle

From Bandipedia, the Crash Bandicoot wiki

The famous castle of Cortex.

Cortex Castle is Dr. Cortex's first base in the Crash Bandicoot series. Even though it was set on fire at the end of the first game, it did survive and can still seen in Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back. A track based on it appeared in Crash Team Racing, as well as the Citadel City section of the same game, as you can cleerly see many aspects of the castle within this area. Also, he used it as his base in Crash Nitro Kart.

[edit] Appearance

Castle itselfs looks dark and creepy. Some corridors inside the castle are without any light as seen in the levels Lights Out and Fumbling In The Dark Crash must use Aku Aku as his lightbulb by opening Aku Aku crates. Castle is mostly made of rock. At the top of the castle, there is a lab(probably the place where Crash was evolved). The Great Hall can be also found on the top of the castle. In Crash Team Racing, Cortex Castle seems a little bit different, less obscure and creepy. It looks simillar to the Great Hall from the first Crash Bandicoot game. Spiders are the enemies on the track. Also at the side of the castle is a giant creepy animal face.

The lab of Cortex Castle as seen in the intro of the first Crash Bandicoot.

[edit] Trivia

  • In the backround of the level The High Road, Cortex Castle is visible in the same size as in the level Road to Nowhere. However, The High Road is located on the third island and Road to Nowhere on the second island. It should be smaller in Road to Nowhere.
