The Electric Eel is an enemy in Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back that is only seen in the sewer levels The Eel Deal, Sewer or Later, and Hangin' Out It conducts all of the surrounding sewer water into an electrical pool, trying to fry Crash, hence the name Electric Eel. Every time the eel electrocutes the water it lasts for about 2 seconds, then fades for about 3 seconds and so on.
Crash crosses this sizzling hazard by jumping on to cylindrical pads (which are sometimes moving). However, Crash can walk in the water while the eel has temporarily discharged all of his electricity but the player must move or act fast or else he will be fried. There are eels that always electrocute the water not giving Crash a chance to touch the water without getting electrocuted. These special eels were only found on the yellow gem path of Sewer or Later.
Electric eels also appear in the level Air Supply in Crash Bandicoot: The Huge Adventure. In this game, they do not make the surrounding water electric. Instead, they are a normal enemy that Crash can spin when they are not electric.
