"I'm an evil scientist!"

Madame Amberly is the obese headmistress of the Academy of Evil. She torments and harasses the children of her school, and constantly calls Cortex a "cry baby".

Her only appearance is in Crash Twinsanity, in which Cortex unexpectedly meets her once again at the end of Rooftop Rampage. Amberly mistakenly believed Cortex found employment as a barber, to which Cortex fearfully replied that he is an evil scientist. She can be defeated when the ropes attached to her back are shot off, causing her to fall onto the floor, never to be found again in the game (apart from a cameo inside Evil Crash's house).

In concept art, it is shown that N. Gin and N. Brio were also her students. Cortex's niece Nina was also a student at her school until she was sent to Evil Public School by Cortex at the start of Crash: Mind Over Mutant. In that game, Amberly was mentioned only once by Nina.

Madame Amberly has vivid electrical powers that she can produce through her hands that can be used to move objects around, possibly from an electric device she has in her back.

  • Crash Twinsanity (first appearance)
  • Crash: Mind Over Mutant (mentioned only)

  • Madame Amberly is one of the only three female bosses to ever be fought in the entire series, Coco (under N. Trance's control in N-Tranced and under the control Of Cortex/Brio's NV Device in Crash: Mind Over Mutant) and Nina Cortex (Crash of the Titans) are the only others.
  • Madame Amberly, along with Cortex and Nina, share a similar trait by having a letter tattooed on their forehead, though it is possible that everyone have a tattoo on their forehead in the Academy of Evil, as it is shown in a piece of concept art which showed students with letters tattooed on their forehead as well.
    • Although concept art also shows that N. Gin and N. Brio were students and they didn't (nor ever) get tattoos on their heads.
  • She is one of the largest characters in the series.
  • The lightning attack she uses in Crash Twinsanity is identical to the Force Lightning attack used by the Sith in the Star Wars series.
  • Madame Amberly can be seen in her arena before her boss fight begins.  While on the moving platform, if the player angles the camera downward, they will see her character model in a static T-pose (though it is slightly obscured by the green mist that covers the floor).
  • She is the only character of the series who has never met Crash in person.
