Polar is on the good side in the Crash Universe, except in Crash Twinsanity when he is pictured in being one of Crash's enemies. In the rest of the game series, he is kind and loving. He is one of Crash Bandicoot's buddies. Polar first appeared in Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back. He is found in the Level 8 (Bear It), Level 13 (Bear Down),the last part of level 15 (Unbearable) and the hidden level 26 (Totally Bear). In these levels, Crash will ride him.
Also, an easter egg has been placed upon him. When you jump on him in the second crash game many times, eventually he will yield many extra lives.

In Crash Team Racing, when Nitros Oxide attacked Earth, threatening to turn it into a parking lot, Polar stopped his dream of being a literature genius (which he was not accomplishing by reading his books upside-down), and decided to race against the villainous alien. Polar is a playable character in his cart. His home track is Polar Pass. His cart handled tight corners, much like Pura.
In Crash Twinsanity, Polar seemed to be very angry at Crash for some unknown reason. He is pictured holding a baseball bat in which he seems to intent to hit Crash with.
