Universal Interactive logo

Latest Universal Interactive logo as of 2003, was replaced with Vivendi Universal Games logo.

Universal Interactive (originally known as Universal Interactive Studios until 2001) was a North American video game publisher that was owned by Universal Studios and was known for producing Crash Bandicoot, Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back, Crash Bandicoot 3: Warped, Crash Team Racing, Crash Bash, Crash Bandicoot: The Wrath of Cortex, Crash Bandicoot: The Huge Adventure and Crash Bandicoot 2: N-Tranced. They also were responsible for production of Spyro the Dragon games for PS1 and other Spyro titles such as "Enter the dragonfly" for PS2/GameCube.

In 2003, it merged with Vivendi Games and became Vivendi Universal Games, and purchased Sierra which was where the Crash Bandicoot license was passed on to after the merger. However, some copies (mostly older copies) of Crash Nitro Kart still hold the Universal Interactive name on it. Vivendi Universal Games was bought by Activision in 2006.
