It takes place in an airship in the sky. If the player looks out the window at the end of the level, he/she will see that the ship that Crash is located on is on fire. This level is the second to have an invisibility crate in the game. In time trial, the Crash Dash helps in the sections with spinning blades. After completing this level, the player will move on to the Lo-Lo boss fight, called Atmospheric Pressure.
It is believed that the cut glider level would have lead to Weathering Heights, since the exterior of the airship looks similar to the airships fought in the cut glider level. A theory suggests that Crash would have had to shoot down the turrets so he could safely land on the airship and go inside. However, the level never made it to the retail version and its interesting approach was ultimately scrapped in favor of the more classic level warping system.
